- Sandy, Shari and Mark in Vacaville

We became interested in gaited horses a little over a year ago. These horses were bred to cover long distances very quickly and to be smooth to ride. Because they are so smooth and fast you can ride them for hours. Once you've ridden a gaited horse on the trail it's hard to ride a non-gaited horse. Sandy is on her Tennessee Walker "Nevada ",Shari is on her Missouri Foxtrotter "Doodle" and I am on my Tennessee Walker "Jazz".

Jazz is a Tennessee Walker and is black in color. He is 15/1 to 15/2 hands tall and approx 13 years old. We don't know a lot about his backround but he is supposed to be registered even though we don't have his papers. He is extremely well trained but can be a grumpy old man just like me.

- Quick at training

Quick is one of the PMU foals we brought down from Canada when he was 5 months old. He is 3 1/2 years old now and has recently come back from 3 months of training. He is a Percheron Paint/Appaloosa cross and should mature between 16 and 17 hands tall. We have continued his training in the round pen and arena and he has been on the trails in Vacaville twice. We are very pleased with his progress. This horse was about as wild as they come when we got him.

- ZZ and Mark at Roundup

With great sadness I had to put ZZ to sleep on Feb 9th 2003. He had been diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago and finally lost the battle. Being involved with dogs for many years I have been there when many have passed on but ZZ was my first horse and this did not prepare me for what I had to do.
I feel very lucky to have known him and could not have asked for a better horse. He was full of personality and the sweetest horse I have ever been around. I always new he would take care of me when we were out riding. We enjoyed riding at the cattle roundups but my favorite place was on the beach near Bodega Bay.I think he enjoyed that the most also. Those are memories I will always cherish.
